ways of evaluating a library or a project

Often times we look solely at Github stars to evaluate a library. Depending upon the nature of the library and the amount of time and energy that we think we will invest, there are more questions we can ask ourselves and more areas that should be evaluated. Some questions that can help, will help in the evaluation of libraries and projects that draw our interest for the task at hand.

how far have they reached?

where are they headed towards?

how much fuel do they have?

how do they operate within themselves?

how do they interact with the world?

what are people saying about them?

how did they reach thus far, what was the journey like? who were the people who left the journey who were the people who joined newly? what were their reasons?

what is the job outlook? how does it look like?
